About Greenlawn Memorial Park
Located in Colma, California

Our story starts in San Francisco, California in the 1800's. The International Order of Odd Fellows memorial cemetery was one of four main cemeteries in San Francisco. It sat near Golden Gate and Masonic Avenue, just north of the Panhandle of the park. When 1900 rolled around and the cemeteries were evicted from the San Francisco City and County limits, some members of the Odd Fellows purchased this parcel of land here in Colma in 1903. Not wanting to be operating under the I.O.O.F., burials started in Colma in 1904 under Greenlawn Memorial Park. The Odd Fellows memorial cemetery moved in the 1930's from San Francisco to Greenlawn in Colma without endowment care funds. They are still in a private section today that is not open to the public. Our office holds the original interment records back as far as 1865.
